Åsa Mackenzie
Senior Lecturer in Molecular Neuroanatomy · Lund University
Åsa Mackenzie leads the Molecular Neuroanatomy group, working at the intersection of molecular biology, neuroanatomy and behaviour. Her group's research has helped define glutamate co-release by midbrain dopamine neurons and uncovered the molecular heterogeneity of the subthalamic nucleus.
Trained at the Karolinska Institute and previously based in Uppsala, she serves on editorial boards and is a frequent contributor to international conferences on basal ganglia and dopamine research.
